John R. MacArthur Managing Partner

John MacArthur focuses on the direct funding and the financing needs of industrial and corporate clients throughout Southern New England, New York, and New Jersey. Typical client funding needs include working capital, equipment, real estate and subordinated debt and/or equity. Capital Markets, LLP and its predecessors have been actively engaged in this field since 1979. The firm is oriented to funding or financing client firms’ need for restructuring, recapitalization and refinancing. Capital Markets has significant experience in providing numerous forms of financing to meet different types of client needs.

Background

Prior to the formation of his own company in 1979, John was President of Fidelcor Realty Services, a mortgage-banking firm owned by Fidelcor, the parent company of Fidelity Bank in Philadelphia. Fidelcor’s activities covered a broad spectrum of real estate financing, including construction lending, banking and servicing of permanent mortgage loans with a particular emphasis on corporate and industrial real estate. Clients included industrial and corporate clients who required financial abilities well beyond “brick and mortar” considerations. John developed his experience in real estate finance at Latimer & Buck, a Philadelphia based mortgage banking firm. While at Latimer & Buck, John helped expand their correspondent network and worked with the advisor to the Fidelcor sponsored REIT.

Education

John is a graduate of Monmouth College, Monmouth, Illinois and has attended numerous courses at The Wharton School, Ohio State University and Michigan State University. Additionally, John has lectured at various seminars, including the MIT Enterprise Forum, on a variety of corporate finance/lending related topics. He is included in the Marquis’ “Who’s Who in Finance and Industry” Registry.

Personal Data

John has served on the Board of Directors of public and private organizations located in Connecticut. Formerly a director of Camp Hazen YMCA, in Chester, CT, he was responsible for fund development and for establishing an endowment. John has been active on local town boards, including the Board of Education in Clinton, CT and the Town Building Committee in Madison, CT. He lives in Madison, CT.
